How to succeed as an early career researcher (ECR)?

This panel will provide an excellent opportunity for early career researchers (ECRs) to gain better understanding on career development and success. We will bring together a diverse group of panellists that will share their successful stories and observations, as well as provide useful advice. The panel combines outstanding early/mid/senior career academics, including:

  • Jie Lu, Professor, UTS
  • Flora Salim, Associate Professor, RMIT
  • Xianzhi Wang, ARC DECRA, Lecturer, UTS
  • Wenjie Zhang, Associate Professor, UNSW (2019 Chris Wallace Award)


The Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia, CORE, is an association of university departments of computer science in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to 2004 it was known as the Computer Science Association, CSA.
